Hello writing assignment…

After having graduated from Chaminade back in 2004, I really haven’t done any formal writing assignments since. Sure, I do participate in NaNoWriMo, but that hardly counts since it’s just a matter of stringing awful words together like a creative writing assignment, but worse.

Anyway, having bashed STV 205 a few days ago, it seems my remarks have returned to haunt me in the form of a 1,200 word paper (+/-10%…wait…what? Ten percent? Give or take ten percent, you say? Shouldn’t it be more like give or take a hundred words (or a hundred and twenty, if you so incline)? Who the hell writes give or take ten percent when talking about word count, seriously?) and a midterm.

So let’s take a look at the marking scheme for this paper, shall we?
4 Description of article.
4 Problem identification and description of solutions.
4 Your opinions–did author convince you or do you disagree? (Yes, I know it’s grammatically incorrect, I am merely copying this word for word from the handout.)
3 Format, length, neatness

So, I can pass with a 11/15 just by talking about the article alone. Ain’t that just grand? The whole “opinion” bit is also ludicrous since it just proves again how no one can possibly take this course seriously. Sources, anyone?
