Spring 2007 anime series…
Well, April’s going to roll around real soon, which means another new season of anime is about to be aired. At the moment, I plan to watch the following:
精霊の守り人:
With Production I.G at the helm, it’s hard to think that anything can go wrong. However, after BLOOD+, I guess I may have to eat my own words after the ending has aired. We’ll find out then.
魔法少女リリカルなのは StrikerS:
Well, the third season of Nanoha has finally dawned upon us. Surprisingly unlike some other “magical girl” shows, Nanoha packed awesome action scenes with likeable characters. Unfortunately, from the website, it seems that a lot of the characters I like such as Yuno and Amy won’t be appearing much (or at all), but of course, a good storyline can always do it for me.
Claymore:
I actually only stumbled upon this series in passing today by chance, really. The art looks rather unique although I have to say that the main heroine is nothing to cry home about. However, as I’m a sucker for medieval history and Houko Kuwashima, I just might have to watch this.
エル・カザド:
Did someone say “girls-with-guns”? Yes, I think someone just did say that. This show will be the last of the “girls-with-gun” trilogy started by Bee Train, the other two being Noir and MADLAX. Yuki Kajiura will of course be composing for this series, which gains a multitude of bonus points from me. I can’t say I’ve ever watched any western-based anime series ever, so this should at least be a decent ride.
風のスティグマ:
This show is like 『灼眼のシャナ』 all over again, except that we’ve now replaced the lead heroine with a teenager. The flames look pretty badass, so it might be worth watching just for the fighting scenes. Well, as long as they’re at least somewhat on par with the final battle of 『ローゼンメイデン・トロイメント』 and not like the disastrous one we had in 『魔法少女リリカルなのは A’s』, we should be okay here, folks.
I didn’t provide air dates since we’re all watching fansubs anyway. Though I will admit I may go ahead with a jump start and watch the raws for a few of these to do some preemptive evaluations. More to come then (maybe…you all know how I am with blogging promises).
