Might’ve died there…
Friday, June 1st, 2007Or maybe not, or well, at least I wouldn’t be feeling well enough to write this now. I was in a biking accident just now about a minute’s biking distance away from work (yes I’m typing this from work). Essentially, my bike went off the pavement and onto the grass and for instinctive reasons, I tried to steer it back onto the pavement. That didn’t really work since I didn’t have enough momentum (or whatever), so I ended up being stuck and then the bike just fell sideways down onto the pavement.
My helmet saved my head but not my sunglasses. The legs appear to be bent way too off for me to be able to fix it with brute force. I can technically still wear it though it’s loose and slightly lop-sided which I’ve always felt is probably bad for the eyes. Well, at least I still have my regular glasses in addition to a spare pair at home.
At least I’m still alive, I guess. The only real injury I’ve suffered is a scratch on my left knee. Other monetary possessions that have been damaged includes my helmet where the visor part essentially completely broke off. Well, to be honest, I wasn’t expecting much out of that plastic part from twenty dollar helmet. My bike’s front wheel is also slightly off. So while the steering…handle (?) is aligned properly, the wheel’s tipped over to the left. It was kind of weird biking the last bit to work having to twist the handle to the right a bit so that I could go straight.
