Package received…

Thursday, September 27th, 2007

Well, my order came in today while I was in class. Jacky heard the FedEx guy at the door so he didn’t have to walk away, thankfully. Unfortunately, it seems that I’ve been shafted out of any of the preorder extras since I did not receive a poster, a 3D card, and/or the radio CD of the seiyus. They’re not necessarily items that I would’ve really wanted, but it sure wouldn’t have hurt to have received them. :(

Delivery exception again…

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

It seems that they failed to deliver the package at 0927 today. As aforementioned, the question here is whether they tried to deliver it to my place or to Kinko’s. I guess I’ll find out once I get home today depending on whether I got that notice or not.

ETA changed to Thursday…

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

Well, I just called FedEx and have asked them to reroute the designated address back to my place. The person made claims that it won’t make it in time for today and could schedule a delivery for tomorrow. I quickly told him that tomorrow would not work and that Thursday would be better.

The question here is if the address change cannot be kicked in in time for today, will they still try to deliver it today despite the request for sending it on Thursday? If they did, will they try to send it to Kinko’s or my place today? Since the Kinko’s address change didn’t work out yesterday (as they actually went to my place instead of Kinko’s), does that mean that the change will get kicked in for today and that it will get sent to Kinko’s today? Alternatively, due to the request for sending it on Thursday, will they even attempt to send it out today?

This is really stressing me out.

Reroute failure…

Monday, September 24th, 2007

While I did call FedEx in the morning to have my address changed, per se, they still seemed to have attempted to deliver it to my place, which obviously failed. I went to the FedEx Kinko’s in the plaza to discuss the matter and it seems that this particular “branch” doesn’t actually do package pick-ups. So, will I have to call them again to change my address back to my place? Will it be delivered successfully tomorrow? To my knowledge, there will be someone at home throughout the day tomorrow so I should be okay. More to come later.

FedEx plan of attack…

Sunday, September 23rd, 2007

According to FedEx’s tracking system, my order is currently sitting in Mississauga. They’ll likely attempt to deliver my package tomorrow but as far as I know, the house is going to be empty. I’m thinking of calling their toll free number tomorrow and having them leave it at the Kinko’s in the plaza instead of trying to deliver it so that I can just pick it up after classes.

There’s a catch, though. Namely, how the hell can they confirm that I’m the actual recipient of this package? I’ve been looking forward to this package since its actual release on Friday and the wait really is killing me. It’s difficult for me to accept a delay due to having to pick up the absent delivery notice and then returning to Kinko’s with it to pick it up. :( The fact that there might be a poster with this makes the waiting even worse. Unfortunately, since I ordered it pretty late in the game, I’m not sure if I hopped onto the bandwagon early enough. Since Amazon offers no indication of its first press availability, I really can’t say.

Preview for Eternal song…

Tuesday, September 18th, 2007

電撃黒マ王』 is going on sale today! And why do I care? I care because it includes the manga serialization of 『灼眼のシャナX Eternal song -遥かなる歌-』! A preview of the manga is available at their website for your viewing interests.

I wish the image wasn’t so pixelated but hey, what can you do, this is what they gave us, after all. I can’t wait until enough chapters gets printed for an actual manga volume so that I can get my hands on it as soon as it’s released. :)

灼眼のシャナ music update…

Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

I was checking Amazon today to see if they released the tracklist for the movie’s soundtrack yet but what I ended up sighting was the CD’s cover.

The art certainly seems a lot different than what we saw in the TV anime series. I think I’ve taken a liking to the new look but since we all know that stills are drawn a billion times better than what’s being animated (unless you’re Ghibli or something), I can’t give my final verdict until I get my hands on the DVD.

In related news, information about Mami Kawada’s JOINT single has been unveiled at her website. While news of her single (and performance for the second season) was confirmed a few weeks ago, the thing that caught my eye this time around (unless I missed it the first time?) was that both of her songs are supposedly going to be opening themes for the second season?

1. JOINT
TVアニメ「灼眼のシャナ2」オープニングテーマ
作詞:川田まみ / 作曲:中沢伴行 / 編曲:中沢伴行、尾崎武士
2. triangle
TVアニメ「灼眼のシャナ2」オープニングテーマ
作詞:川田まみ / 作・編曲:高瀬一矢
3. JOINT(Instrumental)
4. triangle(Instrumental)

If you can read the katakana, you can see that both tracks one and two are being listed as “opening themes”. I kind of hope that this isn’t the case (even if they both kick major ass) because it removes the rush of excitement you get when you hear the new opening theme with the new opening animation midway through the series.

That’s that for now. More blog entries to come as more news comes out.

Movie DVD and CD orders are down…

Thursday, September 6th, 2007

Well, after putting it off for the longest time, I’ve placed my order for the soundtrack and the “special collection” DVD. I was originally planning to combine the order with some sola stuff that was coming out, but since those won’t be released until the 25th, I didn’t want to wait another four days for these two other items to ship (as they’re being released on the 21st).

I’m going to just group those other items in a separate order. I don’t “need” those as badly as I “need” these.

Of course, I don’t actually need any of this stuff. People buy what they want, not what they need.

The movie soundtrack too is on its way…

Friday, August 10th, 2007

It seems that the movie’s soundtrack will also be released on September 21st in conjunction with the movie’s DVD release. I haven’t actually laid down an order for the DVD through Amazon though it seems like I just might have to get on with it given the current circumstances.

Theatrical DVD release date confirmed…

Monday, June 11th, 2007

The news of the DVD was out a couple of days ago, but an actual date of September 21st was only revealed with the 48th volume of Dengeki hp by various sources. Other news includes an illustration collection by Noizi Ito to be released on August 9th, which is likely going to be similar to her last release with 『紅蓮』. For the second season, it seems that they’re going to bring Mea to the scene. This is quite a curveball and could very well invalidate my predictions about the series ending with the light novel line. The novelization of the tenth novel was also brought up, but that’s old news anyway.

My oh my do I have a ton of stuff to buy. Right now, I’m looking at the third manga, the first manga of sola to be released next month, GARNET CROW’s concert DVD later this month, a new single of theirs next month, and the movie DVD in September. The artbook? Well, I don’t know. If I do I might as well pick up 『紅蓮』 while I’m at it (since I don’t actually own it). It’s hard to say. I mean, if sola proves itself to be the cure for cancer it’s shaping up to be, I may be tempted to buy that series on DVD which will surely drain my financial resources. It’s a make or break, really. Either it goes into my annals of great Japanese animation series like AIR, or it’s going to drop the ball on me like Kyoto Animation’s Kanon remake did. I don’t see much room for any middle ground here, folks.
